INDIANAPOLIS, IN (February 2, 2010) — Rather than sponsor one of the glitzy Hollywood galas that took place during Grammy® weekend, Klipsch® premium speakers helped the Green Music Group and The 6th Annual Roots Jam Session turn up the volume on greening the music industry.

The Green Music Group, a coalition of environmental non-profit Reverb, held its official launch party on January 30 at Jane’s House in Hollywood. Klipsch attended the earth-friendly celebration in support of this high-profile alliance that brings together musicians, industry leaders and music fans to create widespread environmental change within the music industry and around the globe.

Green Music Group founding members, including Dave Matthews Band, The Roots, Guster and Maroon 5, were there to mingle with guests and provide live music entertainment. Other celebrities in attendance included actor Jason Biggs and actress Elizabeth Banks. These famous folks put their signatures on a pair of Klipsch Reference floorstanding speakers, which will soon hit the auction block to raise money and awareness for the Green Music Group.

Later that evening, the Green Music Group continued its launch at The 6th Annual Roots Jam Session at the Key Club in West Hollywood, an event where the best in music join forces with the Grammy award-winning Roots crew for a continuous, spontaneous night of musical celebration and environmental awareness for an invite-only audience. While celebrity attendees included Slash, George Lopez, Ryan Phillippe, Kate Voegele and Kelsey Grammer, famous musicians such as Mos Def, John Legend, Questlove, Damian Edwards and Grammy-nominated singer Estelle were among the night’s performers.

Each performer and VIP guest took home the new Klipsch Image X10i, the company’s smallest, lightest in-ear headset that features an in-line mic and three-button remote for taking calls and controlling the music content on your iPod, iPod touch or iPhone 3GS. The X10i also employs patented oval ear tips for unequaled comfort, superior noise isolation and enhanced bass as well as a wealth of exclusive sound technology to deliver pristine music performances that are sure to satisfy even the most discriminating listeners.

Klipsch is no stranger to star-studded events. Company chairman Judy Klipsch, along with event marketing company Explicit Events, has been devoted to creating buzz and awareness for Klipsch speakers by connecting the brand with celebrities at major events, including Sundance, the Academy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, The American Music Awards and now pre-Grammy parties with a purpose. Not only is she putting premium sound solutions in the hands and homes of key influencers, she is also educating them on the importance of high performance sound, successfully turning them into Klipsch brand ambassadors.

According to Judy Klipsch, she is a huge advocate of what the Green Music Group is trying to accomplish as Klipsch continuously looks at new, earth-friendly ways to build its products. “We carry a strong sense of responsibility when it comes to preserving the environment,” she said. “Klipsch has been delivering highly efficient speakers for over 60 years, but that’s not enough when you consider climate change and how it’s negatively impacting our world today. From engineering and manufacturing to product packaging and displays, we remain committed to understanding “green” concepts as we shape our future product plans.”
