INDIANAPOLIS, IN (November 16, 2009) — The Klipsch® Image S4i in-ear headset has been named an honoree in the International CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Awards program for being one of the most impressive headphones on the market. It also marks the 24th time Klipsch has been named an Innovations honoree for its premium sound since 1999.

Products entered into this awards program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and media representatives to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 36 product categories. Entries are judged based on the following criteria: engineering and aesthetic design qualities, user value, unique features and how the product compares to others in the marketplace.

Intended for use with the iPhone 3GS and iPod models featuring VoiceOver technology, Klipsch designed its $99.99 Image S4i in-ear headset to offer premium sound at an affordable price point, unbeatable comfort, full music control and highly intelligible phone calls.

Thanks to its advanced 3-button mic and remote system, which Klipsch designed in conjunction with Apple, the Image S4i is the first third-party headset to offer full control of your iPhone, iPod touch and iPod music and video content.

Another major advantage the S4i has over competitive designs is its patented oval ear tips, which provide comfortable long-term wear. Unlike circular-shaped designs that put stress on the pressure points inside the ear, Klipsch’s oval ear tips naturally fit the contours of the ear canals. These ear tips also offer superior passive noise-cancellation, blocking out almost all ambient noise and providing excellent bass.

The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. It is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the voice of industrial design, committed to advancing the profession through education, information, community and advocacy.

The Klipsch Image S4i will be displayed at the 2010 International CES, which runs January 7-10, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase will feature honorees by product category in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center and will also be featured at CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the International CES on Tuesday, January 5.
