INDIANAPOLIS, IN (September 29, 2010) — Whether you want to groove in the garden or party by the pool, the new wireless Klipsch® AudioRock lets you enjoy music just about anywhere. This compact, portable outdoor speaker packs quality components into a durable, weatherized enclosure that blends in seamlessly with your landscape.

The AudioRock is the perfect addition to the wireless Klipsch LightSpeaker® System, which makes whole-house audio as simple as screwing in a light bulb. With this add-on speaker, you can expand your LightSpeaker System into the great outdoors, without the hassle of purchasing an A/V receiver or running any speaker wire underground.

The AudioRock features a built-in wireless receiver that syncs up with the LightSpeaker’s powerful 2.4GHz wireless transmitter. You can connect two music sources (i.e. iPod, PC or TV) to the transmitter, as well as establish two separate listening zones. In other words, you can enjoy jazz in the kitchen with the LightSpeaker and hip hop on the patio with the AudioRock.

Furthermore, you don’t need to plug the AudioRock into a power source because it comes with a rechargeable lithium battery pack that, when fully charged, provides up to eight hours of uninterrupted listening. The standalone charging base recharges the battery pack in four hours.

Optimally tuned for open-air environments, the AudioRock delivers balanced stereo sound over a wide listening area. Inside its UV-protected enclosure, the AudioRock employs dual 0.75-inch polypropylene tweeters for crisp highs and a dual voice coil 5.25-inch injection molded polypropylene woofer for deep lows. These high and low-frequency drivers sit at a 20-degree upward angle to ensure great sound performance when placed at ground level.

According to Mark Casavant, vice president of product development for Klipsch, the sheer convenience of the AudioRock is a major selling point, but when you factor in its sound quality, you’ll start to question how you ever gardened without listening to your favorite tunes.

Available in a Granite finish with rustproof hardware and grille, the AudioRock retails for $199 each and will be available for purchase on and at select retailers now.

Special Note: You must own a LightSpeaker System, sold separately for $599.99, in order for the AudioRock to work.
