INDIANAPOLIS (October 3, 2014) — Klipsch, a leading global speaker and headphone manufacturer, announces today that a photograph of brand ambassador Josef Newgarden and his company-sponsored IndyCar has been named the recent gold-medal winner of the National Museum of Sport’s International Fine Art Competition in its photography division. Central Indiana native and photographer Chris Bucher captured the photograph for Klipsch during qualifications for the city’s inaugural Grand Prix that took place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May 2014.
“Shooting this rising star in the IndyCar world in front of his car, surrounded by the controlled chaos of the crew while prepping for qualifications brings light to the excitement and death-defying challenge inherent in motorsports,” says photographer Bucher, a three-time gold medalist in the NAMOS annual competition who regularly shoots for Klipsch. “Newgarden’s lighthearted charisma coupled with steel-hearted determination makes him a particularly interesting subject.”
