Heresy III Special Edition
East Indian Rosewood
California Black Walnut
The Klipsch Heresy III Special Edition speakers are an extremely limited production run of our iconic Heresy III loudspeakers, finished in a beautiful exotic real-wood California Black Walnut or East Indian Rosewood. Because of its smaller enclosure, this model offers the greatest degree of placement flexibility from our Heritage Series. Originally introduced in 1957, the Heresy speaker is famed for its compact three-way design utilizing a 12” woofer and horn-loaded midrange and tweeter. Accompanying the new special edition finishes, we’ve handpicked new grilles to complete the ensemble - a vintage lambswool for the California Black Walnut finish, and a beautiful silver luster cloth to compliment the Rosewood design.

COMPACT THREE-WAY LOUDSPEAKER
The Heresy was originally introduced in 1957 as a compact three-way design utilizing a 12” woofer and horn-loaded midrange and tweeter. In 2006, the Heresy III was upgraded with a more powerful woofer, bi-wire network, as well as midrange and tweeter compression drivers, featuring a titanium diaphragm for smooth and accurate definition.
They Said He Couldn't
But he did anyway
When Paul W. Klipsch was developing a smaller speaker for use between two Klipschhorns, an acquaintance declared that he couldn't possibly introduce it to the public because it was in direct violation of the corner horn principles, and amounted to acoustic heresy.
"The hell I can't," Mr. Klipsch said. "And that's exactly what I'm going to call it!"
A year later the Klipsch Heresy loudspeaker was introduced and, ironically, it became a bestseller in the church sound reinforcement market.
Book-matched wood veneer
Klipsch only uses book-matched wood veneers for the Heritage series. The veneer leaves are kept in order as they are delicately sliced from the timber and precisely arranged to provide a mirror image at the splice joint – like turning the pages of a book. This gives each speaker an aesthetically appealing and consistent appearance that is treasured more than any other cut of wood veneer.
Each pair of Heritage Series loudspeakers are grain-matched using wood veneer panels that come from the same timber. Each cabinet is carefully matched so that each speaker in the pair is practically indistinguishable from the other. The speakers move seamlessly together through the factory. Each finished product is inspected and labeled with sequential serial numbers, ensuring that the Heritage series speakers leave the factory as a meticulously crafted set.
NEW NAMEPLATE, RISER AND GRILLE
Each pair of Heresy’s rests on a matte-black slant riser and features a new script nameplate mounted to a a vintage lambswool or beautiful silver luster grille cloth.
